Young Entrepreneurs – Profit vs Pitfalls
What are the ‘Young Entrepreneurs – Profit vs Pitfalls‘ series?
Ever since I can remember I have wanted to be an entrepreneur.
Ok, as a kid I probably was not familiar with the word entrepreneur. I knew, however, I wanted to, own a business, be self-employed, run my own show.
Growing up my entrepreneur dreams included owning and running a restaurant, dude ranch, B&B, hair salon, catalog company (kind of glad that one didn’t pan out) and an array of clothing stores.
As a kid I was constantly trying to think up small business opportunities. When I was 6, I told my mom & dad I was thinking about getting up early, collecting our neighbor’s newspapers and reselling our neighbors their missing papers. My parents discouraged me from this risky venture. I did take their advice on that one.
The point is I have always been fascinated by the fact anyone can start with an idea, a solution to a problem or just a dream and build a business from it!
That is why I am beginning a new series of articles and podcasts called Young Entrepreneurs: Profit Vs Pitfalls!
Young Entrepreneurs Today
The Younger Generations are thinking about being entrepreneurs in a completely different way than previous generations.
This series is intended to examine what it takes to be a young business owner today. I am asking young entrepreneurs what worked and didn’t work while building their businesses.
Most importantly, I want to know, what do we need to learn from these risk takers!
Some of my guests will include owners of brick-and-mortar stores while other are operating completely online, and some a mish mash of both.
I will be talking to folks who are reinventing what it means to be “your own boss.”
If you are a Millennial, Gen Zer or even Generation Alpha and you have started your own business, I would love to hear from you!
If you are taking on a conventional industry, steeped in tradition, and transforming the way they do business, I want to hear your story.
Until then, I am so excited to listen and learn from the younger generations who are redefining what it means to be an Entrepreneur.
I am Meagan Johnson, a professional speaker, author, and generational humorist. See you soon on the multi-generational trail!
